Mobile Food Pantry

Alameda Christian Church partners with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to host a mobile food pantry on the church grounds a minimum of once a year. This is a food distribution program in which food - fresh, frozen and canned goods are distributed free on a first come, first served basis. Typically, the Mobile Food Pantry serves approximately 250 households, averaging a total of 800 people). The first distribution occurred on Saturday July 24, 2010.

Our Hands Garden Ministry

Compelled to address food insecurity issues, provide fresh, healthy produce to the community coupled with the blessing of an abundance of land, the Our Hands Garden Ministry was birthed spring 2010. Produce from the garden, manned on a volunteer basis, is given away free to residents of senior and low-income housing facilities, members of the community on give-away Saturdays, and to our senior members. The garden ministry also works in partnership with the Society of St. Andrew (SOSA) a national gleaning network. SOSA gleans produce directly from area farms which is then donated to the Our Hands Garden Ministry to distribute and deliver. The ministry team also gleans directly from local Farmers Markets in partnership with SOSA.

“PRAISE in the PARK”

Once a year, Alameda takes church worship beyond the walls to celebrate in Nashville’s Centennial Park.  All are welcome to join in. Centennial Park has a large homeless population to whom we minister through the offering of the worship experience and a fellowship meal following worship. Snack bags with water, clothing items and, lots of love are freely given.

If it is the Second Tuesday of the month you will find Alameda at Grace Healthcare in worship and praise with the residents and staff. On second Tuesdays, 6:30p-7:00p we find “Grace at Grace.”
