Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF)

The Alameda Disciples Women’s Ministry consists of all ladies of the church. The Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF) began in the Disciples of Christ church in 1874. Each Disciples congregation has a Women’s Ministry, now called DWM.

Our goal as Disciples women is to serve God by ministering to others through supportive fellowship, spiritual growth through study, and by mission and community service.

In partnership with the other Disciples Women in the TN region and the Disciples Women’s Ministry of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, we serve together to help women develop a sense of personal responsibility for the mission of the Church.

There are many opportunities to serve Jesus Christ by serving others through this ministry. We welcome all.

Disciples Men’s Ministry

The purpose of the Disciples Men’s Ministry is to minister to the unique needs of men in the church, enabling them to fulfill their potential as servants of God, strengthening the total ministry of the church. To seek ways to encourage men to become more active in the church and guiding men toward actively loving God and one another.

Young Adults

Our church offers inspiration, opportunities and resources to support and develop young adults. We focus our ministry in addressing the needs of those ages 19-35 and have designed it to enable participants to pursue a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, fellowship, discipleship and outreach. Our goal is to offer each young adult a place where they are welcome to worship, pray, praise and study in a safe environment led by the Holy Spirit.

YOUTH SUNDAYS - Worship leaders

All aspects of worship service including announcements, prayer, scripture and reading of the affirmation of faith are conducted by youth and young adults. Young Adults participate by ushering and serving communion on this Sunday.

Scholarship for Graduating Seniors

Alameda Christian Church (DoC) supports our young adults as they pursue their higher educational goals with scholarships to qualified applicants. The Alameda Christian Church scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $300-$500. Graduating high school members who are enrolled in an accredited college university or technical program leading to certification in the fall of the current year are welcome to apply. Please see the attached form for details.

Children and Youth

Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do. Recognizing this need, Alameda has committed to investing in the development and participation of youth in church. These special programs are designed to be pathways which allow youth to recognize their gifts, grow their faith and receive training for their spiritual journey to adulthood.

On 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays during the regular morning worship service, any youth and children (ages 3-16) that wish to participate in Kids’s Church leave for continued study, praise, and snacks, before returning during the invitation to discipleship and Holy Communion. Kid’s Church provides worship services better catered to youth and children's age and spiritual levels.

Kid’s Church is directly supervised by the Young Adult Ministry.
