Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
— 1 Timothy 4:12

Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do.  Recognizing this need, Alameda has committed to investing in the development and participation of youth in church.  These special programs are designed to be pathways which allow youth to recognize their gifts, grow their faith and receive training for their spiritual journey to adulthood.

1st Sunday - Worship leaders

  • All aspects of worship service including announcements, prayer, scripture and reading of the affirmation of faith are conducted by youth and young adults. To keep smaller youth (i.e., ages 10 and below) engaged in this service, children are encouraged to participate in “Children’s Moment”.  This is a brief scripture-inspired object or activity themed lesson which is catered to inspire children’s age spiritual levels.  Youth also participate by ushering and serving communion on this Sunday.

1st Sundays – Youth Church

  • During the regular morning worship service any youth and children (ages 3-16) that wish to participate leave for continued study, praise, and snacks, before returning during the invitation to discipleship and Holy Communion. The Youth Church allows worship services that are better catered to youth and children's age and spiritual levels. The Youth Church is directly supervised by the Young Adult Ministry.
